Help Clean Up Trail Entrance

To the Editor:

In the spirit of Earth Week and Lose-The-Litter Day, let’s do something about the increasing amount of trash that has accumulated at the entrance to that wonderful piece of Fairfield Hills open space we’ve come to know as the High Meadow.

Meet me at 9:30 am Saturday morning at the Mile Hill Road cul de sac and bring trash bags and gloves. We’ll pick up all those plastic cups, soda cans, bottles, and discarded blue doggy-bags that litter the stream and the wooded trail entrance. If enough people show up, we can get this job done in less than an hour. Then we can reward ourselves by continuing up the paved path and enjoying the view from atop the High Meadow. Or, we can go have coffee at the middle school, compliments of the Lions Club and Mocha Coffeehouse.

Hope to see you there. Maybe just this once, though, we should leave our dogs at home.
