Police Issue Truck Citations
While on truck violation enforcement duty Monday, April 23, police pulled over approximately 45 trucks between 6 am and 2 pm on South Main Street, near Sand Hill Plaza.
Police said they issued truck regulation violations to approximately 30 truck drivers for problems including overweight trucks, overly long trucks, trucks with unsecured loads, trucks with projecting loads, and failure to maintain trucking logs.
The fines issued during the truck inspection project exceeded $18,000, police said.
The enforcement work was a joint project of town police and state police and was funded by a federal grant.
