HVEDP Plans Land Use Training Seminar

DANBURY — The Housatonic Valley Economic Development Partnership (HVEDP) will conduct an Advanced Land Use Training Seminar entitled “Environmental and Financial Success for Economic Development 2001.” The program will take place on Thursday evening, May 3, at the West Side Campus of Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) in the Ancell School of Business Class Room Building, Lecture Hall 127.

Registration and refreshments will be at 6:30 pm and the program will run from 7 to 9 pm.

The lecture is presented in conjunction with WCSU and the Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials.

Among other things, the lecture will focus on the responsibilities of earth moving for major economic development projects, balancing successful environmental and financial responsibilities, and regulatory compliance at the local, state, and federal levels. In addition, US EPA Stormwater Phases 1 and 2 will be discussed in the program.

The speakers will be John W. Deering, special consultant, land use and development, and John B. Farnham, executive director, associated general contractors of Connecticut. The program is offered free of charge.

Members of municipal boards, commissions, developers, design professionals, mortgage lenders, bonding agencies, real estate, attorneys, elected officials, and the general public are encouraged to attend. Walk-ins are welcomed.
