Has Anyone Seen Our Mail?
Has Anyone Seen Our Mail?
To the Editor:
In the last 6 months, we have received everyoneâs mail within a two-mile radius of our home address. If the address begins with #1 â we get it! We, however, place these pieces of mail back into our mailbox for our mail carrier to re-deliver (to the correct address we hope). However, we have not been so fortunate. In the past six months we have never received: a family wedding invitation; important banking paperwork needing signatures; a lease renewal from our tenants (from Sandy Hook); urgent insurance renewals and numerous personal pieces of mail including bills needing to be paid on time.
Our Postmaster does not seem to have an answer to this problem. When speaking with our neighbors lately, they are all having a problem with mail deliveries. Either not getting mail or getting everyone elseâs mail from around town. Our Postmaster doesnât seem concerned that we are not receiving legal documents that are waiting for our signatures and insurance policies that will lapse if not paid on time. Are you having this same problem? If anyone out there in our town has our mail, would you be so kind as to pop it into a mailbox or, better still, bring it to our Postmaster and tell him that our mail was delivered to the wrong address again?
We would be so happy if this problem could be resolved soon, as we are having a very hard time running our businesses in such a poor manner. We are wondering if Newtown is again having a problem with âmail tamperingâ as we did in the past? We sincerely hope this is not the case again. What do you think?
Thank you,
Phil & Kathy Carroll
