Newtown Choral Society Spring Concert: 'The British Invasion, Cont'd,' May 6 At Meeting House
Newtown Choral Society will perform music from the 1960s British Invasion as well as works from the 1970s, 80s and 90s by Freddie Mercury and Queen at its spring concert "The British Invasion, Cont'd," scheduled for Sunday, May 6, at 3:30 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.choir2@se-ltd.com or access Newtown Choral Society on Facebook.
Under the direction of Mary Andreotta and accompanied by Susan Anthony-Klein, the concert will begin with a medley of Beatles songs including "Good Day Sunshine," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Got To Get You Into My Life."
Also included in the concert program will be Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man," Sting's "Fields of Gold" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."
Tickets, available only at the door, are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. The meeting house is at 31 Main Street, at the flagpole.
