Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is presenting “The Progression of Photography,” with 19 cameras ranging from a 1930 Kodak Rainbow Hawk-Eye to a 2010 Canon Powershot, at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

Located in the showcase outside the Children’s Department, the exhibit is a collaboration between the library and Newtown Cultural Arts Commission. The collection was put into place on April 15, and will remain on display through May 31 during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:30am-8 pm; Friday, 11 am-5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am-5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.

The cameras and other devices are not for sale, but the original prices are listed within the display.

The exhibit will partially overlap with the club’s Annual Photography Exhibit, which will be presented in the library’s first floor meeting room May 23-June 18.

An opening reception is planned for Sunday, May 31, from 2 to 4 pm. Many club members plan to be in attendance, and the public is invited to meet them while enjoying the exhibitions. Club members will be available to answer questions about the cameras and their work as well.
