Still Room In Some Newtown Continuing Education Courses

Newtown Continuing Education announced that there is still limited space in the following classes:

Computers for the Not So Beginner (intermediate), taught by Dan Tannenbaum of Newtown Computer and Financial Services. The class includes such topics as why your computer crashes and how to keep it from happening so frequently, how viruses work and how to avoid them, and how to protect yourself and your family from the bad things on the internet. Wednesdays, two classes starting April 28, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, fee $59.

Design the New Ornamental Kitchen Garden from the Ground Up. Learn Susan Bachenheimer-Resnick’s method for growing comestibles in raised beds. Learn how to choose the proper place, develop the design, and all the practical considerations of raised bed gardening. It’s fun and the results will keep your palette and your lower back very happy. Wednesday, May 5, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, fee $29.

Circular Knitting, the fundamentals of knitting in the round. Knit a seamless garment on circular needles. Easy and fast with hardly any finishing. You may never use your straight needles again! Thursdays, five classes, starting April 29, 7 to 9 pm, fee $79.

Decorative Tole Painting – Beginner. You’ve seen those beautiful hand painted items at expensive craft fairs and thought, “I wish I could do that.” Well you can, even if you have never painted before! With classroom and one-on-one instruction from instructor Lori Terhaar, you will learn all of the basic decorative painting techniques to create a beautiful sunflower plaque for your home. Monday, May 3, 7 to 9 pm, fee $38.

Beginner One-Stroke Painting. Join instructor Lori Terhaar, and in just two instructional classes learn how to create leaves, a sunflower, a rosebud, daisies, vines, and more using the basic techniques made famous by Donna Dewberry’s one-stroke painting phenomenon. Wednesdays, 2 classes, starting May 26, 7 to 9 pm, fee $44.
