Renewal And New Registration

At St Rose Religious Education

This Sunday, April 25, from 9 am to noon, in the parish hall, parents of children who are currently enrolled in religious education are asked to register for religious education classes for 2004-2005.

It is necessary that students be enrolled for grades 1–8 so that they are prepared to receive the Sacraments of Initiation. Programs for children in pre-K, kindergarten, and high school are also offered. Each year of instruction in pre-K through 8 builds on previous knowledge and faith experiences based on the pillars of the catechism of the Catholic Church: scripture, creed, worship and sacraments, Christian morality, prayer and spirituality, and community and service. The high school program celebrates the profession of faith, celebration of the Christian mystery, life in Christ, and Christian prayer.

Registration for children who are new to St Rose Religious Education takes place on Sunday, May 23, from 10 am to 1 pm, in the parish hall, and Monday–Friday, May 24–28, from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Religious Education Office at 38 Church Hill Road.

Last month, a “Mother’s Circle” was formed for moms and children under 24 months of age, who meet Thursday mornings. This supportive playgroup provides mothers the opportunity to focus on everyday issues of child rearing while the little ones have an opportunity to play and experience an early introduction to their faith.

Also this year a program called “Teach Me to Pray, Teach Me to Play” was introduced for children who are 3 years old. Children learn to appreciate and love God through play and prayer; the children meet on Wednesday mornings. For additional information about the faith formation programs call the Religious Education Office at 426-2333.
