Pianist Orli Shaham To Perform In Danbury
DANBURY â Orli Shaham will perform on Saturday, April 24, at 8 pm, at Ives Concert Hall. The program, entitled âDance Music,â will feature works of Debussy, Dvorak, Bartok, Chopin, Bach, Copland and Ravel. It will be presented by Danbury Concert Association in cooperation with the universityâs music department.
Ms Shaham has established an impressive international reputation as one of todayâs most gifted pianists. Winner of two prestigious prizes (The Gilmore Young Artists Award and The Avery Fisher Career Grant), she has been recognized as an exceptional artist since receiving her first musical scholarship at age five. Recent seasons included numerous solo recitals and duo-recital tours of Europe and North America with her brother, violinist Gil Shaham.
Adult admission to the April 24 concert is by subscription or guest ticket at $12; student admission is free through a grant from Danbury Cultural Commission. For information call 748-0522.
