Kids’ Fishing Derby At Dickinson Park

 

The Newtown Fish and Game Club and Newtown Parks and Recreation Department and co-sponsored a children’s fishing derby at the Dickinson Town Park on April 10. About 300 trout were stocked, the largest up to 19 inches long, including about five golden trout.

Some 175 anglers turned out and caught about 150 fish including eight trout that were more than 15 inches long.

The winners, who caught the largest fish, were, in the 6 years old and younger category, Joe Tether and Nick Samuelson; 7–9 years old, Garrison Buzzanca and Allie Soderholm, and 11–12 years old, Stephen Clark and John Mathews.
