John Martocci Elected To

 Danbury Health Systems Board

DANBURY — Danbury Health Systems announced the election of John Martocci of Newtown to its board of directors for a three-year term.

Mr Martocci is chairman and chief executive officer of the Newtown Savings Bank, a $570 million mutual savings bank with nine locations operating in Newtown, Bethel, Danbury, Southbury, Monroe, Trumbull, and Woodbury. On the Danbury Hospital Board of Directors, he serves as chairman of the audit committee and is a member of the finance committee.

 Mr Martocci also is involved in the community through several nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the board of directors and serves on the executive committee of the United Way of Northern Fairfield County. He is a board member of Ashlar of Newtown and Lockwood Lodge, and he also serves on the Masonicare finance committee and is chairman of the advisory committee for the Family Loan Program. Mr Martocci served as co-chair of the Housing Opportunities Community Impact Team in 2002-2003 and chairman for the United Way campaign in 2001-2002.

 From 1994 to 2000 John Martocci was associated with the Family Counseling Center. He was a member of the board of directors and the finance committee, and he concluded his tenure as chairman of the board.

 Mr Martocci was a member of the Ad Hoc Fairfield Hills Master Plan Advisory Committee. He is also a board member, chairman of the audit committee, and member of the strategic planning committee of Infinex, an investment brokerage firm.

Professional organizations with which Mr Martocci is associated include the American Institute of CPAs and the Connecticut Society of CPAs. Mr Martocci was past chairman of the Connecticut Bankers Association and is a member of the executive committee, member of the legislative committee, CBA PAC and Fed Pac Chairman, and board member of the Center for Financial Training of Atlantic States.

 John Martocci has received several awards for his active contributions to many community organizations. In 2003, he was awarded the Good Scout Award by the Boy Scouts of America — Connecticut Yankee Council. He also was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Connecticut Council for Family Service Agencies for his efforts in founding the Family Loan Program pilot program in Danbury. Mr Martocci received the HD Bassett award from the Family Counseling Center and the Peter T. White award for his volunteer service to the community and the United Way.

 Mr Martocci resides in Newtown with his wife Terri-Ann. They have three children.
