Garden Club Offering Miniatures Program
Garden Club Offering Miniatures Program
âItâs a Small Worldâ will be the theme of this monthâs meeting of The Garden Club of Newtown. Elaine E. Day of Goshen will be visiting Newtown on Tuesday, April 27, to demonstrate miniature and small designs with an emphasis on mechanics and techniques.
A miniature or small design may be any design style, traditional or creative, except it is reduced in size. Mrs Day will have examples of backdrops and containers that will be in proportion for these five or eight-inch designs.
Her focus will be on how to make attractive arrangements that are in proportion to the small scale that is required as a part of many flower show competitions.
Mrs Day is a past president of both Spring Glen Garden Club and the Goshen Garden Club and still is an active member of both clubs. She has exhibited and received blue ribbons in many flower shows.
The public is invited to attend the lecture which will be at Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook. The program will begin at 1 pm, and there is no charge for admission.
