Frederick W. Hurley, Sr
Frederick W. Hurley, Sr, 81, born on May 11, 1922, in Stratford, died peacefully after a long illness in Jupiter, Fla., on April 8. He was predeceased by one son, James Edward Hurley.
Mr Hurley was the father of longtime Newtown Public Works Director Frederick W. Hurley, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ellen Hennessey Hurley; brothers, Robert Hurley of Manchester, and Richard Hurley and wife Althea of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; sister, Kathleen Sheehan and husband James, of Glen, N.H.
Besides son Frederick W. Hurley, Jr, and wife Maritza (Marty) of Stratford, survivors include seven daughters and their spouses, Ellen and Daniel Molnar of Meredith, N.H., Marguerite and Frank Felicella of San Antonio, Texas, Mary Hurley of Stratford, Virginia and Wayne Klinga of Fairfield, Jane and Bruce Blakeman of Oakville, Colleen Gallant of Albany, N.Y., and Lisa Hurley of Jupiter, Fla.; and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Private funeral arrangements were made in Florida. A memorial mass for family and friends was held April 21 in the chapel at the St James Parish Center, 2070 Main Street, Stratford.
