Budget Deserves Support

To the Editor:

I want to take this opportunity and encourage Newtown residents to vote in support of your 2004-2005 town budget on Tuesday, April 27, at the Middle School. After careful consideration and analysis, our elected Board of Finance and Legislative Council has passed on a responsible budget to the residents of Newtown to vote on. It is now the responsibility of every resident in this town to get to the polls and support it.

If this budget gets defeated on April 27, please understand it will get further cuts! The budget failed twice last year due to the lack of support from the town. On the third try it finally passed with damaging cuts that resulted in a loss of programs to our school system and town. We cannot let that happen again.

This is the town you choose to live in, the schools you carefully researched for your children to attend and the community you wanted to retire in. Your choice to live here was the right one. Confirm it by voting Yes at the Middle School on Tuesday, April 27, from 6 am to 8 pm.
