PEKALE & SMITHTOWN HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANTIQUES & GARDEN ANTIQUES SHOW W/3 CUTS
set 4/22 AK/CD #736592
Smithtown, N.Y. â On Sunday, May 4, the Smithtown Historical Society and Elias Pekale Antique Shows Ltd will present the 4th Annual Antiques & Garden Antiques Show from 10 am to 4:30 pm on the historical society grounds, 5 North Country Road.
âWe feel strongly that to support the future we need to remember the past,â said promoters Sheila Pekale and Jennifer Schulman. Many new exhibitors are joining the show this year, displaying the decorative arts, textiles, documents, gardens, tools and furniture of yesterday.
The societyâs many activities include research, conservation and preservation of Long Islandâs past. The society maintains several historic houses on its grounds: The Judge J. Lawrence Smith homestead, circa mid-1700; Epenetus Smith tavern, circa 1740; Franklin Arthur farmhouse, circa 1740; Roseneath cottage, circa 1918. Proceeds from the show will support activities sponsored by the society.
The show features 60 exhibitors with quality antiques as well as collectibles. Hodgepodge Emporium will present folk art and Antique Attic features vintage garden decoratives. Times Past Antiques will bring original and restores phonographs and Depression glass. J & J Antiques, Jeanne and John, display country furniture and paintings; from Port Washington, Cluttered Hall will bring McCoy and Shawnee pottery; and Irene Nardolillo of Northport, N.Y. shows Americana.
Other exhibitors will be offering postcards, silver, vintage textiles, estate and costume jewelry, ensuring something for everyone.
The Smithtown Historical Societyâs show takes place outdoors and under tents; donation admission is $5. For information: 516-868-2751 or www.pekaleshows,com.
