Volunteers Needed To Rehabilitate Wildlife
Volunteers Needed To Rehabilitate Wildlife
Weston â Wildlife In Crisis, Fairfield Countyâs wildlife rehabilitation center, will be hosting a volunteer orientation on Saturday, April 30, from 2 to 4 pm in the meeting room of the Weston Library on Norfield Road. The organization hopes to recruit more dedicated and reliable volunteers to help with the upcoming âbusy baby season.â
Wildlife In Crisis cares for more than 5,000 wild animals each year, the majority of which come into the center between the months of May and September. Volunteers are needed to help with animal transport, orphaned animal care, fundraising, carpentry, public relations, and legal services.
There will be a photo presentation by Wildlife In Crisis intern Jennifer Peters illustrating the nature of the work at the center. Afterward, the staff will go over feeding techniques, rescue skills, and proper housing for injured and orphaned wildlife.
Wildlife In Crisis is a Weston-based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to wildlife preservation and land conservation. It is the only facility in Fairfield County licensed to treat all species of native wildlife and is staffed solely by volunteers, relying entirely on private donations for its support.
