Something For Everyone At

Fundraiser/Food Festival

WATERBURY — There will be something for all tastes at this year’s Hotter Than Heck Fest, which returns on Friday, April 29, to Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, 63 Grand Street. The event will run from 6:30 to 9 pm.

Whether it’s the over 30 food purveyors offering everything from trendy fare such as Wasabi dipping oils, jalapeno pepper-shrimp appetizers, Cajun inspired chicken and sausage pastas to the expected chilis and wings, or the latest in fads like spray-on suntans and summer hair styles, visitors should all be able to find something fun at the annual fundraising event for Waterbury Youth Services.

For those who don’t like spicy food, there will even be plenty of non-tears-inducing fare to enjoy.

The event, geared to an adult crowd, will again be presided over by emcee Scot Haney, the popular and zany Channel 3 Eyewitness News personality. Other aspects of this crowd pleasing event include the Three Alarm Chili Cook-off for Firefighters and other amateur chefs, the Pirate’s Booty treasure chest, a People’s Choice Cmpetition among the exhibitors, a slsa dancing demonstration and lesson, and plenty of musical entertainment.

Participating exhibitors include Aldo’s of Italy, Applebee’s, Bank Street Grille & Restaurant, Blimpie’s, The Bungalow, Cabot Creamery of Vermont, Chabaso Bakery, Chili’s Bar & Grille, Crossroads Cantina, Crystal Rock Water, Daniel’s Fine Catering, Diorio’s, Emmanuel’s, Exhibition Café, Giff’s Originals, Gift Baskets Galore, Jesse Camille’s, Louie’s Pizza, The Palace Supper Club, the Salsa Store, Senor Pancho’s, Stew Leonard’s, Sweet Maria’s, SYSCO Distributors, Tastefully Simple, Town Plot IGA and Uncle Willie’s BBQ.
