Names Needed For Ceremony To Honor Military

An effort is being made to gather the names of all local men and women serving in the armed forces for a ceremony that will be held at the VFW-American Legion post on Tinkerfield Road at 10 am on Saturday, May 28.

Gail Tamborino, whose son, John, is serving in the Marines, said she is trying to assemble the names of servicemen and women who are anywhere in the world for the Memorial Day weekend ceremony.

Boyd Saxton, adjutant of American Legion Post 202 will lead the ceremony, she said.

“We want to read all the names of all the troops,” Ms Tamborino said. “This is something that should be done.”

Ms Tamborino said the information needed is the name of the serviceman or woman, the branch of the military service, and the country he or she is serving in. This information can be mailed to her at 8 Hall Lane, Newtown 06470 or emailed to tamborino@sbcglobal.net. Or call her at 426-2298.
