Get Out To Vote
To the Editor:
Itâs that time again. Time to vote for the budget referendum. Please show your support by casting your vote. I would love to see an exceptional turnout. It will cost the taxpayers a lot of money if we had to keep having referendum after referendum and it would do no one any good. Monies would be cut from an already lean budget, resulting in cuts in services townwide and cuts in education that would impact students.
Citizens for Newtown (CFN) has been hard at work for several months, updating our database with the voter list, phone calls, signs, etc. Lots of people have helped us along the way. We have seen more participation and attendance at the Board of Education, Legislative Council, and Board of Finance meetings. I hope this is a movement that continues. This is the way we can experience how our elected officials help run our community. It is a great way to become involved and an opportunity for each person to consider running in the future for Board of Education, Legislative Council or the Board of Finance.
Again, donât forget the date â Tuesday, April 26, at Newtown Middle School (A Gym) from 6 am to 8 pm.
See you at the polls!
