Apply Now For UConn Mentor Connection

Applications are now available for UConn Mentor Connection. The annual three-week residential summer program for academically talented high school students (candidates must be current sophomores or juniors) will take place on the University of Connecticut’s Storrs campus, July 11–29.

Students will participate in creative projects and cutting-edge research investigations with UConn faculty and advanced graduate students. Each year, accomplished university professors and advanced graduate students in more than 30 different areas of study work side-by-side with program participants on independent investigations, productions, or other works-in-progress in shared areas of interest. While developing a collaborative and personal relationship with a mentor, students also learn about career options and get a taste of college life. Students participate in field trips, social events, and nonacademic activities in the evenings and on the weekends.

Applicants must possess a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in the top 25 percent of their class.

Need-based financial aid is available, and scholarship applicants are required to provide a copy of their parent or guardian’s 2004 federal income tax return. Applications are due May 5. For more information, contact Heather Spottiswoode at 860-486-0283 or email mentorconnection@uconn.edu.
