Newtown High School's girls' and boys' golf teams both won matches this week. The girls, coming off a season-opening victory over Masuk of Monroe on April 6, defeated visiting Brookfield 192-265 and visiting Weston 204-242 at Rock Ridge Country Club, April 18 and 19, respectively, then bested host Bunnell of Stratford 193-224 on April 20.

The boys defeated Bethel 165-183 at Rock Ridge on April 18, defeated host Notre Dame-Fairfield, at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course 168-188 the next day, then topped visiting Immaculate of Danbury 165-189 on April 20.

Against Brookfield, Sarah Houle shot a 42, Liz Weisgerber 50, Molly Wilson 45, and Kira Kelly 55. In the match against Weston, Houle shot a 41, Wilson 47, Hannah Logan 58, and Kira Kelly 58.

In the Bethel match, Josh Houle shot a 34, Colin Patrick 39, David Brestovansky 46, Mike Meyer 46, Mike Macchiarulo 47, and Tim Davis 47. Against Notre Dame, Houle shot a 39, Colin Patrick 41, Brestovansky 42, Ryan Patrick 46, and Michael Meyer 47. In the Immaculate match, Houle shot a 37, Colin Patrick 42, Brestovansky and Meyer both 43, Davis 48, and Ryan Patrick 49.
