Pilobolus Dancer To Perform With Ananda Wilson

WASHINGTON — Performing artists Adam Battelstein of Pilobolus and Ananda Wilson will share an afternoon and evening of dance hosted by The School of Performing Arts (SOPA) and downcitycancetheatre for Springfest 2006.

Mr Battelstein will dance solo works and with Ms Wilson in four pieces that he choreographed.

Born in Texas, and now a resident of Connecticut, Mr Battelstein has appeared in New York theaters, in film, and on television.

An inventive performer, he works with many unique props, such as tires and ropes.

“So many possibilities [are] out there that have yet to be explored in dance,” said Mr Battelstein. “I have some new pieces … with interesting props that can be applied to science and mathematics courses while informative and entertaining.”

The performances will be on Saturday, April 29, at 7 pm, and on Sunday, April 30, at 3 pm, at Shepaug Valley High School, 159 South Street. For information or tickets, call SOPA at 860-210-1444.
