Garner Prisoner Arrested On Threatening Charge
In response to a complaint on the night of April 15, state police went to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison on Nunnawauk Road, to investigate a report that an inmate had made a threat against another person.
State police said their investigation into the complaint resulted in the arrest of inmate Steven Nile Waterman, 48, on a charge of threatening in connection with an incident involving a 62-year-old woman.
It is unclear if that woman is a prison employee or prison visitor. There were no injuries, state police said.
Waterman was then scheduled to be arraigned on the charge April 17 in Danbury Superior Court. Waterman is serving a sentence in Garner on a violation of probation conviction, according to the state Department of Correction.
