Retired Fairfield Hills Telephone Operator Loved Motorcycles And Her Family
Doris H. Botsford, 74, beloved wife of Charles W. âChuckâ Botsford of Brushy Hill Road, Newtown, died April 18 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Newtown.
She was born in Bridgeport on July 3, 1931, a daughter of John and Margaret (Benko) Janocsko.
Mrs Botsford was raised and educated in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1949. She was chief telephone operator at Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1986.
Mrs Botsford was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Hat City Riders Motorcycle Club. She was a former member of the Connecticut Barrel Racers Association.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Maria B. DuBois of Morris, Jody B. Wells, of Washington, and Kelly Botsford King of Wingdale, N.Y. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason C. and Joshua C. DuBois and Amanda C. and Christina A. Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm, Saturday, April 22, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment in Huntington Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 344, Newtown CT 06470 or to the charity of oneâs choice.
