BRIDGEPORT â What was life like for the African American population between 1810 and1900?
On Saturday, April 22, the Reverend James Cook Sr will offer a 90-minute presentation discussing African American life during the 19th Century, including an exploration of some of the struggles and conquests during the pre and post Civil War era in the United States.
Reverend Cook has spoken extensively on the subject of the African-American experience.
His lecture, âBlack History in Barnumâs Time,â will be presented at The Barnum Museum, 820 Main Street. It will begin at 1 pm.
General museum admission applies for the lecture: $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and college students, and $3 for ages 4-17. Museum members and children ages 3 and under will be admitted free of charge.
