NHS Band Tag Sale

The front lawn of the middle school on Saturday, May 12, is going to be the place to find bargains and crafts while at the same time helping to support the Newtown High School Marching Band.

The planned fundraiser will help pay for staff, transportation, equipment, and uniforms for the accomplished group of 140 students who have performed in the Rose Bowl Parade, the Citrus Bowl, and most recently, for the 25th time, in the New York City St Patrick’s Day Parade.

The marching band and color guard programs are kept alive with volunteer help and outside contributions. That is why the group needs community support of donated items and buyers on May 12 from 9 am to 3 pm at the Newtown Middle School on Queen Street.

Donations are currently being accepted for people to drop off items that are in usable condition. No junk or clothing is being accepted. Donations will be accepted at Newtown High School from 6 to 7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the day of the sale by 7:30 am.

Additionally, we are looking for vendors to sell crafts. People may also sell their unwanted musical instruments for a $25 commission.
