SCAN To Present Harrington Painting Portrait In Oil
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present “Heidi Harrington Painting a Portrait in Oil” on Wednesday, April 24, at 1:30 pm, in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at The Flagpole). The demonstration is open to the public and admission is free.
Award-winning portrait artist Heidi Harrington was born and educated in the United Kingdom. A recipient of the Royal Academy of Arts Richard Ford Award and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award, she has exhibited multiple times with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and at the UK’s National Portrait Gallery as a part of the BP Portrait Award.
She has also been featured in solo exhibitions at London’s Riverside Studios and The Beatrice Royal Art Gallery.
Harrington moved to the United Sates in 2004 and currently lives, paints, and teaches in Westville, New Haven. She is a regular instructor at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan and the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, and offers private lessons as well.
