Luis Vendinha, 64, of 82 Terrace Street, Danbury, husband of Irene (Coelho) Vendinha, died at his home on April 17.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Orlando Domingos of Newtown.
Born November 7, 1936, in Vale De Nogueira, Portugal, he was a son of the late Francisco and Engracia De Jesus Rodrigues Vendinha. Mr Vendinha was employed as a welder by Rapid Electric Company up until his illness after 22 years of service.
The Vendinha family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his devoted good friends who demonstrated sincere support throughout his illness.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by another daughter and son-in-law, Benedita and Carlos Goncalves of Danbury; three brothers, Manuel Vendinha of Waterbury, Americo Vendinha of Danbury, and Aurelio Vendinha of Portugal; a sister, Maria Emilia Ferreira of Portugal; an aunt, Silvina Francisco of Waterbury; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Friday, April 20, at 10 am. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery.
Visiting hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Thursday, April 19, from 5 to 8 pm.
