Newtowner Promoted At People’s United

BRIDGEPORT — People’s United Bank recently announced that Newtown resident Christina Bliven has been promoted to senior vice president, financial planning and analysis. In her position, she will continue to be responsible for the company’s profitability reporting and analysis functions along with her role as the senior financial officer for all back-office support functions, which she assumed in 2006. In addition, Ms Bliven will be responsible for the budgeting/forecasting process.

She joined People’s United in 2003 as first vice president, financial analysis and planning. Prior to joining People’s United, Ms Bliven worked at United California Bank in various finance positions, including vice president and controller. Throughout her career, she has worked at several banks including Fidelity Federal Bank, East West Federal Bank, and Manhattan Beach S&L.

Ms Bliven began her career with KPMG, a public accounting firm where she earned her CPA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from California Lutheran University.
