New Morning Earth Day Celebration This Weekend

WOODBURY — New Morning Natural & Organic will host its 14th Annual Earth Day Celebration Saturday, April 19, from 11 am until 4 pm. The celebration will once again be at the New Morning store, in Middle Quarter Mall, 738 Main Street South. The free event will run rain or shine, outside and under tents.

This year’s theme is “Earth Household.” More than 100 exhibitors will offer samples of the latest in natural and organic foods, many from local producers. Visitors can learn how to stay healthy naturally, visit with area nonprofit organizations, learn new ways to green a home for the health of family and community, and even enter to win $500 of natural groceries.

Back by popular demand will be WPKN hosts Bob Costanzo and Doug Echols, who will broadcast the Car Bob Show’s Earth Day Radio Special live at the event on WPKN 89.5 FM Bridgeport and WPKM (88.7 FM Montauk). This year’s show will examine the environmental impact of choices people make in the home and on the road and will include a panel discussion with experts from many disciplines, including Bob Wall, Connecticut Clean Energy Fund; Jim Motavalli, editor of E-Magazine; CFE, the Connecticut Fund for the Environment’ and local land and water conservationists.
