Grandchildren Were Greatest Love

Evelyn L. Myer, 77, of Westport, died Sunday, April 13. She leaves family in Newtown. She was the wife of the late James E. Myer Sr. Mrs Myer was born in Bridgeport, January 30, 1930, the daughter of Andrew and Helen (Kovacs) Link and had been a resident of Westport for the past 55 years. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren and she also was an avid bowler with the Westport Women’s League. She also enjoyed sports at every level and her trips to Vermont and Block Island.

Survivors include Robert A. Myer and his wife, Elizabeth of Newtown, one daughter, Elizabeth L. Petroni and her husband, Kevin of Huntington; five sons, Edward R. Myer and his wife, Gail, of Bridgeport, James E. Myer and his wife, Laura, of Westport, Richard B. Myer and his wife, Laura, of Deluth, Ga., David A. Myer and his wife, Karen, of Milford and; one sister, Joan O’Hara of Uncasville; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myer was also predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and Robert Link.

A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on April 17. Contributions in memory of Mrs Myer may be made to a favorite charity of choice.
