Ford Hits Chevy
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wasserman Way and Berkshire Road about 2:18 pm April 15.
Motorist Kevin Krusewski, 20, of Seymour, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck eastward on Wasserman Way, stopped at a red traffic signal at that roadâs intersection with Berkshire Road, police said.
As Krusewski then started to make a right turn onto Berkshire Road, he saw a fire truck traveling southward on Berkshire Road, so he abruptly stopped the Chevrolet, police said.
Motorist Sharyl Rider, 30, of Ayden, N.C., who was driving a 2002 Ford sport-utility vehicle, then struck the Chevrolet from behind, police said.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Rider for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Pearl Street
About 6 pm April 10, motorist Joseph F. Cappiello, 17, of 13 Leopard Drive was driving a 1999 Nissan Maxima sedan southward on Philo Curtis Road and then attempted to make a right turn onto Pearl Street, police said.
Cappiello, however, then encountered a vehicle in his travel lane, so he swerved to avoid a collision, but in doing so, the Nissan went off the road and landed in a ditch, damaging the autoâs front end, police said.
Cappiello was not injured. Police verbally warned him for making a restricted turn.
