*Tickets for the BON JOVI concert I told you about a few weeks ago — the show will be at The Meadows in Hartford on Monday, August 4, with GOO GOO DOLLS opening — are going on sale this weekend. On-sale time is Saturday, April 19, at 10 am.

Prices are $85 for the reserved/pavilion area and $30 for the lawn. The wristband lottery for this on-sale will have distribution at 8 am, and the lottery drawing at 9:30.

Tickets are available through the Oakdale box office in Wallingford (the Meadows has still not opened for the season), all Strawberries stores, and tickets.com.

*WAYNE KEENAN just returned from a two-month Mexico tour, and has set up a few shows now that he’s back in the area. Wayne will be at The Acoustic Café in Bridgeport on Saturdays, April 26, May 10 and June 14, and all shows start at 8 pm. Guest vocalist Vesta Williams will be joining Keenan and his jazz band.

The first two shows only have standing-room-only status left – tickets sold out within a few days, which led to the third show’s addition. Good seats are still available for that one, according to Wayne. Contact the café at 203-335-3655 for reservations.

*Earth Day 2003 will be next weekend, and Preservation Advocates for Terre Haute (PATH) has a week of activities scheduled to celebrate the occasion. One of the week’s highlights for the musically inclined will be “The Funky-Gia Earth*Nite Benefit” on Friday, April 25, at Colorado Brewery. Bands GIA and FUNKESTRA both have sets that night, with performances running from 8 pm until at least midnight.

Tickets are just $6 in advance, $7 at the door; call 791-1450 for reservations or details.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
