STRATFORD - The Stratford Brakettes fastpitch softball team - led by John Stratton - will conduct six clinics at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field and the Short Beach Recreation Complex in June and July.
STRATFORD â The Stratford Brakettes fastpitch softball team â led by John Stratton â will conduct six clinics at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field and the Short Beach Recreation Complex in June and July.
Stratton is regarded as one of the nationâs top pitching clinicians and besides managing the Brakettes also serves as the assistant softball coach at Florida Atlantic University, working with ASA Hall of Famer Joan Joyce.
Assisting Stratton at the clinics will be members of the Brakettes coaching staff and a majority of the players.
The clinics will consist of two Beginning Pitching sessions, an Advanced Pitching session, a one-day catching clinic, an Offense/Hitting session and a Defense/Fielding session. All clinics (except for catching) are two-day sessions running from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Beginning Pitching is set for June 23-24 (session #1) and June 26-27 (session #2). Advanced Pitching will be June 30 and July (session #3) and catching (session #4) will be July 2. Offense/Hitting will run July 15-16 (session #5) and Defense/Fielding will run July 17-18 (session #6).
All clinics will be staged at Deluca Field, except for the Offense/Hitting session, which will run at Short Beach. Registration fee for all clinics is $65 (except for catching, which is $35. Discounts will be available for attending multiple sessions.

The Brakettes will be entering their 57th season of play on Saturday, May 31, in a Northeast Seaboard Womenâs Fastpitch League doubleheader tilt against Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Brakettes will host the Danbury Debs on Sunday, June 1, in a 6 pm twinbill.
The Brakettes were 78-1 in 2002 while capturing a national championship.
