Space Still Available In Adult Ed Courses

Newtown Continuing Education has announced that there is still limited space in the following classes:

Exploring China Town — China Town is a fascinating neighborhood in New York, especially when there is a guide that knows all the places to visit. The guided tour includes open markets, apothecaries with ancient herbal remedies, Buddhist temples, street merchants, and rare behind the scenes views of life in China Town. The trip is scheduled Saturday, April 26. The bus leaves Newtown High School at 7:30 am and returns approximately 6 pm. The fee is $72.

An Introduction to Access — This program will be taught by Mike Ingber of Upward Business Systems. Access is one of the most popular database management systems on the market. In this introductory course students will discover the power of using this application. Learn database fundamentals and how to create and customize a database to meet specific needs. Basic word processing skills are required. The course is $81 and will be held for three Thursdays beginning May 1, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

An Introduction to PowerPoint — This program will help those who give or create presentations for live audiences or in printed form. PowerPoint can assist with these types of presentations. Participants will learn the basics of creating presentations, applying template designs, formatting, adding clip art, and running slide shows. The course is $59 and will be held for two classes on Mondays, starting May 5, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
