BROOKFIELD –– The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program will hold recruiting programs on Tuesday, May 6, at 6:30 pm, at the Brookfield Library and Thursday, May 8, at the Danbury Library.

Team in Training is the world’s largest endurance sports training program. It includes training for marathons and half marathons, runs or walks, triathlons and century (100-mile) bike rides. Participants help raise funds for blood cancer research and patient services in exchange for training and support.

The 2003 fall season team members from Fairfield County will be participating in the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach, Va.; the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., Dublin Marathon in Ireland; Cyclefest Century Bicycle Tour in West Palm Beach, Fla., and the Walt Disney World Triathlon at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

In 2002, more than 30,000 participants nationwide raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. There will be a kickoff party and informational meeting on Tuesday, May 20, to welcome new team members and their families. The party will be held at 6:30 pm at Penfield Pavilion II in Fairfield and is free to the public, but reservations are required.

For more information, call Rob Gerowe or Eileen Baxter at 203-967-TEAM.
