Jeeps Collide On Main Street

Volunteer firefighters work near a Jeep Wrangler that flipped over in a two-vehicle accident about 3:17 pm Wednesday in front of Edmond Town Hall. The collision involved motorist William Strickler, 86, of Tamarack Road, who was driving a 2000 Jeep station wagon, and motorist Colleen D. Lynch, 18, of Butternut Ridge, who was driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler SUV, which flipped over in the accident, police said. Strickler had been attempting to pull out forward onto Main Street from a perpendicular parking space when the collision occurred with Lynch, who was traveling southward on Main Street, police said. Lynch was transported to Danbury Hospital as a precautionary measure by ambulance volunteers, after which she was released. Hook & Ladder and Sandy Hook firefighters responded to the crash. Strickler received an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.                                                                                              —Bee Photo, Gorosko
