Great, just what we need, another bank and nail salon...at least there’s no mortgage broker in there, most of them have exited that “business.”  How about we allow some other kinds of business into town?  Like a Staples or a Chili’s (or other kind of kid-friendly family restaurant)...or maybe a nice bookstore like Borders....fairly low impact businesses (i.e., not a Walmart nor a chemical factory) which can drive tax revenues and not require residents to leave Newtown for their needs.  Given the relative wealth of Newtown, I’d expect some of these businesses would love to have a Newtown franchise...and we can probably get them to invest in an attractive and well manicured location a la Southbury.
