Cutting Hair For KCC

To the Editor:

Ricci’s Salon & Spa in Newtown recently sponsored a cut-a-thon to benefit Kevin’s Community Center, a nonprofit, free primary medical clinic dedicated to providing free health care to Newtown area residents over the age of 18 who are uninsured or underinsured and have low income. Through the generosity of many volunteers and the outpouring of community support, Kevin’s Community Center raised almost $2,000!

With one in every eight people being uninsured in Connecticut and more joining the ranks every month, we cannot even begin to express the immense need for free medical supplies and donations to assist with our operating expenses. With this donation, Kevin’s Community Center is able to continue providing personalized health care and support.

A very special thanks to Ricci’s Salon & Spa proprietor Dan Riccio, to his stylists who gave of their time and expertise, and to his staff for doing a great job keeping it running smoothly…and to the greater Newtown area residents for supporting us.
