Book Donations: Spring is officially here, time to clean out cellars and attics and bring those unwanted books to the library. Volunteers are hard at work organizing for our Labor Day Book Sale.
Exhibits
Ten Years of Fun with Photography: Over 80 photographs taken by Mary Mitchell and Al Goodrich will be on display at the library for the month of April.
 Letâs Go Fly a Kite! The library will be displaying a lovely collection of kites made by Charles Hunt through May 6. The kites will be on exhibit on the first and second floors and will help get you ready to enter Park and Recâs kite flying contest that will be taking place at Ram Pasture on Sunday, May 6.
The SCAN Art Show will be coming to the library May 2 through May 14. More details will be available soon.
Chidrenâs Programs
Harry Potter Poetry Workshop: Liz Arneth is back again with a new twist on the Harry Potter series. She will conduct a workshop with students in grades 4-6, Friday, April 20, from 3:30-5 pm. Registration is required. For more info, call 426-3851.
Adult Programs
Evening Book Discussion Group: The evening book group will be reading and discussing Galileoâs Daughter by Dava Sobel on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 pm in Special Collections.
Internet Class: Bob Brand will be teaching an intermediate Internet class on Saturday, April 21, from 10 am-noon. The topic will be Web sites â personal and commercial, how Web sites are made, what makes a great Web site, and more. There is a $10 supply fee for this class and registration is required. Call the library at 426-4533 for more information or to register.
Free Blood Pressure Screening: Ashlar provides free blood pressure screening the fourth Wednesday of every month in the Genealogy room from 10 am-noon. This month the screening will be on April 25. No appointment is necessary.
Creative Wellspring: The Creative Wellspring workshop will be meeting on Wednesday, April 25, with Anita Hall to discuss dreams. The meeting will take place in the meeting room at 7:15 pm. Please call the library at 426-4533 to register.
American Plays: Join us for a discussion on Long Dayâs Journey into Night by Eugene OâNeill on Thursday, April 26, at 7:30 pm in the Special Collections room. The dynamic duo, Liz Arneth and Gordon Williams, will be leading the talk. Â
Daytime Book Group: For all of you unable to make the evening book discussion please consider joining us at the library for a new daytime group. On May 14, at 1 pm the group will be discussing Ahabâs Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund. The group will also be putting together a list of books to read in future months, so if you have a recommendation weâd love your input.
