DANBURY – If you’re fishing for a weekend of fund and excitement, the Foxwoods Candlewood Bass Fishing Tournament could be the perfect bait! The Foxwoods Bass Challenge Tour will reach Candlewood Lake on Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29, with the tournament starting at 6 am and weigh-ins at 3 pm.

More than 175 teams are expected to compete for prize money totaling $55,000 (paying down to 25th place). First prize (the highest weight, combined from both days of competition) will be a Tri8 Triton Bass Boat valued at $25,000.

As an added daily attraction, a $1,000 prize for the Lunker, the heaviest fish of the day, will be awarded.

There will be an eight-fish limit.

A banquet will be held on Friday, April 27, at 5 pm, at the Connecticut PAL Building in Danbury to give participants an opportunity to register for the tournament, learn about the rules and regulations, and size up the competition.

For further information about the tournament, visit www.foxwoodsbasstour.com or call the Housatonic Valley Tourism District at 1-800-841-4488.
