Drug Disposal Program Slated At Newtown PD
The Newtown Police Department and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have scheduled a prescription drug take-back session for 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 27, at Newtown Police Station, 3 Main Street.
The session will allow members of the public to properly dispose of unwanted prescription medications. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked, police said in a statement.
The drug disposal program allows the members of the public to prevent pill abuse and pill theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Besides the special DEA collection program, the police station’s main lobby holds a secure container where residents may dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs at any time.
