Spiritual Workshop At Southbury Library
Spiritual Workshop At Southbury Library
SOUTHBURY â Sarah G. Hyatt, an inspirational speaker from Charleston, S.C., will present a lecture/workshop entitled âUnlimited Assets: Spiritual Resources for Health and Abundanceâ at the Southbury Public Library, 561 Main Street South, on April 29, at 7 pm, in the community room.
All workshop materials will be supplied free of charge, and the lecture/workshop is also free. Complimentary childcare will be provided at the library.
Ms Hyatt will explore the effect of thought on experience, and discuss universal spiritual laws that apply to healing, and the fact that one need not accept lack in any area of life.
Ms Hyatt has been practicing prayer-based healing for more than 15 years, based on the spiritual laws explained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Living with an angry, alcoholic father made Sarah Hyattâs early life miserable. But in high school, her personal spiritual exploration helped her to realize the possibility of living beyond the reach of pain and anger.
As a result of practicing the spiritual ideas explained in Science and Health, Ms Hyatt was able to overcome feelings of worthlessness and the urge to commit suicide brought on by her fatherâs alcoholism. She became free of the self-destructive behaviors that often affect children of alcoholic parents. Eventually her dad gave up drinking and began to build good relationships with family and friends.
Ms Hyatt also found that the ideas in Eddyâs book were effective in curing physical ills and economic woes. She has relied upon prayer to heal herself and members of her family of various problems over the years.
Born and raised in Raleigh, N.C., Ms Hyatt attended North Carolina State University for three years before receiving her BA in English from Florida Atlantic University. She has been a Christian Science practitioner since 1988, and talks widely to public audiences on the power and ability of God to heal disease and find solutions to business and family problems.
In addition to the general public, Ms Hyatt has spoken to Sunday school classes of various denominations, college and high school religion and philosophy classes, and juvenile detention center inmates on a variety of spiritual topics, including a spiritual approach to conquering fear of terrorism. She also teaches classes on spiritual healing.
No reservations are necessary for this lecture/workshop. The library is at 561 Main Street South, just off route 84 between exits 14 and 15. For more information call 203-262-1944.
