Lillian Helen Walker

Lillian Helen Walker, 80, died April 9 at Saint Joseph of The Pines in Southern Pines, N.C.

Mrs Walker was an active member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Newtown, having served as secretary there for more than 30 years. She was an avid bird watcher, fed many birds, and was especially fond of hummingbirds. While living in Newtown, she helped establish a special education program for children.

She is survived by one son, Douglas R. Walker of Bridgewater, N.J. and two grandchildren, David and Alexander Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Walker, and a daughter, Roberta Lynn Walker.

A memorial service was conducted April 11 from Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Southern Pines, N.C., with Pastor Scott Homesley officiating.

Boles Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Pines was in charge of arrangements.
