Joanne M. Hensel

Joanne M. Hensel, 46, of Glen Road, Sandy Hook, died April 12 in the Danbury Healthcare Center.

She was born in Bridgeport on August 10, 1957, a daughter of Joan (Husted) Hensel of Sandy Hook and the late Donald Hensel.

Joanne grew up in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1976. Joanne was a client of Ability Beyond Disability (Datahr) in Brookfield for many years, and she also was a resident of Heritage Heights Care Center for ten years.

In addition to her mother, Joanne is survived by two brothers, Donald Hensel of Islip Terrace, Long Island, N.Y., and Duane Hensel of New Milford; three sisters, Jane Babasick of Glendora, Calif., Marianne Golembeski of New Milford, and Sharon Hensel of Danbury; five nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on April 14.

Cremation will be private.
