James P. Miller
James P. Miller, 91, of Newtown, died April 7 at the Filosa Convalescent Home in Danbury. He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Bradley) Miller.
Mr Miller was born November 20, 1912, in Norwalk, son of the late Jacob and Alice (McNamara) Miller. Mr Miller worked for CL&P for 38 years, retiring in 1977 as a service manager. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the 33rd Sea Bee Battalion. He was a 30-year member of the Newtown Country Club and an avid golfer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, James P. Miller, Jr, and his wife Brenda, of Newtown; a daughter, Linda M. Haggerty and her husband William, of Newtown; five grandchildren, Katie and Matthew Miller, Stacy Sousa, Kimberly Roym and Kristin Haggerty.
A memorial service is scheduled on Friday, April 16, at 4 pm, at Trinity Church, 36 Main Street, Newtown. Burial will be private.
The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, is in charge of arrangements.
