HARTFORD – The Michelob ULTRA Golf Tour will visit 10 Connecticut courses from May through September, giving amateur golfers a chance to compete for prizes as well as a National Championship.

Anheuser-Busch, Michelob ULTRA, TaylorMade, Adidas and Maxfli are all sponsoring the Connecticut tour, as well as other similar tours around the country.

“We plan on hosting 10 or 11 amateur events at some of the finest public courses Connecticut has to offer,” said Scott Stampp of Newtown, the Hartford tour director.

Golfers will compete in one of six flights determined by handicap. They will be able to check their golf stats against some 3,000 golfers from around the country by visiting www.ultragolftour.com. The MUGT-Hartford will keep track of tour players’ statistics including driving accuracy and distance, greens in regulation, birdies and putts per round, and overall stroke play and Order of Merit points.

The 2004 schedule will hit Fairview Farm in Harwinton (May 5), Blue Fox Run (May 22), The Tradition of Wallingford (June 5), Laurel View in Wallingford (June 19), Tunxis Plantation in Farmington (July 10), Blackledge (July 24), Tallwood (August 7), Rockledge (August 21), and Topstone (September 4).
