Alley Cats Bringing In Spring With A Song
BROOKFIELD â In a sure sign of spring, the world famous Yale Alley Cats will return to The Brookfield Theatre for the Arts, Inc., on Saturday, May 1, for an 8 pm performance.
The Yale Alley Cats, one of the countryâs most renowned all-male a capella singing groups, has been delighting audiences everywhere with its repertoire of jazz, popular music and Motown favorites since its inception as a barber shop quartet in 1943. The Alley Cats have toured the world and sung for Presidents Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford.
In May 2003, they headlined at a Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids benefit hosted by Tony Award winner and honorary Alley Cat member Nathan Lane. In September 2003, they released of their latest studio album, Day and Night.
Wine and hors dâoeuvres will be served at 7 pm; curtain for the concert is at 8. Admission is $50. The evening is a fundraiser for the theater company.
