Community Forum On Violence

WESTPORT — Every community is attempting to grasp the problems underlying violence in schools so that the community can act proactively. To help broadcast the discussion, on Thursday, April 26, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, the New Learning Center of Westport will offer a forum, “Violence and Our Children.” This panel will feature speakers discussing key elements of the challenges, as well as the solutions being implemented and proposed.

Featured panelists will include Dr Barbara Fischetti, coordinator of special services K-8, Westport Schools; Cynthia Gilchrist, M.S., director of pupil personnel services, Westport Schools; Linda Olson, Psy.D., chairperson of the victim resource committee, Million Mom March Foundation, and CT Advisory Board Member, Fight Crime – Invest in Kids; Yvonne Klein, BA, coordinator, Southern Fairfield County Chapter, Million Mom March Foundation and member, CT Coalition Against Gun Violence; Linda Keller, MSW, director of clinical services, New Learning Center; and Mark J. Marcus, former commissioner of CT Department of Children and Families (DCF).
