To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Joan Crick for warden of the borough and to remind my borough friends and neighbors to vote on May 2, 2005.

I have lived in the borough for 20 years and have known Joan Crick for 40 years. Under her leadership the borough has changed from a gas station on the corner of Main and Sugar Streets to Scudder Smith’s Pleasance Park.

A few years ago there were no sidewalks to connect Queen Street and Main Street. This particularly endangered our children at the middle school. It took five years of planning and lobbying of funds (the borough was able to get nearly all the funding from the town) but persistence prevailed. Today, we have a wonderful historic district thanks to Joan’s support. The borough continues to do its good work with its hundreds of volunteers.

Because Joan Crick won’t blow her own horn, I think it important to give her a toot myself. Thanks Joan!

Sincerely

Edmond P. Farrell
